New Jersey Coalition For Democracy Reform, Inc. is moving to a new internet address! You can now find us at www.NJCDR.org. There exists an urgent need to escalate the effort already underway to return the power and control of our democratic systems to the voters of New Jersey. While New Jersey has achieved excellence in public education, it’s a glaring contradiction that our citizens should be so disadvantaged with virtually no means to influence public policy from outside the legislature. Elections then, right? Maybe; how we select candidates and conduct elections are so completely controlled by the two legacy parties that it is very difficult for voter-driven efforts that challenge the status-quo to be successful, especially when those efforts intend to return some of that control back to the voters.
Our ability to confront this problem and reform our democratic systems will only be limited by how quickly we can engage voters across the state and how quickly we can convince candidates it is in their self interest to support these reforms.
